The Sportpix International Photo Library is a Hong Kong-based golf archive housing well over half a million images, and is easily the largest independent golf image resource in the Asia region.
To provide a totally comprehensive service, Sportpix International has agreements with several independent golf photographers in various parts of the world, so when we are not able to supply a specific image to a client directly from our own stock we are normally able to source it from elsewhere.
Sportpix International is owned and operated by British-born photojournalist, Richard Castka, who has been based in Asia for 20 years, and is the only photographer in the Asia region to hold full photographic accreditation to the PGA European Tour.
Richard's award-winning work is regularly featured in leading international golf magazines and is constantly sourced to advertise and promote many of Asia's best-known golf clubs and resorts. His work is also featured in regional and international newspapers, as well as on golf calendars and TV ads.
Aerial golf course photography is one of Richard's specialties, evidence of which can be seen in the popular book, A Golfer's View, which went on sale in September 2005 and sold out by Christmas the same year.
The 260-page title, written by Australian PGA professional Brad McManus, captures the unique essence of 10 of the very best golf courses in Australia and New Zealand. Richard was commissioned to photograph each and every hole on all 10 courses, both from the ground and from a helicopter, a job that produced spectacular results.
In addition to photographing the world’s leading golf tournaments and courses, Richard accepts a limited number of commissions each year to shoot high-end corporate/celebrity golf events for some of the business world’s leading blue chip companies.
Richard's most notable achievement from a golfing standpoint is to have played the world's two most exclusive golf courses - Augusta National in the USA and Pyongyang Golf Club in North Korea! |
